The Thin Silver line is a symbol used for our correctional officers by paying their respect to those officers killed in the line of duty and currently serving officers.
The black and white background on the flag is a reminder of our correctional officers who have lost there life's in the line of duty and the sliver line represents those correctional officers that continue their work each day protecting our communities by the rehabilitation our inmate's return to the community, which is one of the best ways to prevent crime and reduce recidivism in our community by creating safer prisons and safer streets.
